We've Seen What Bad Leadership Costs.

We did something about it.

The Evolving Leader Fellowship was founded by Dr. Kristine Medyanik and Dr. Christine Fonner

Between the two of us, we’ve sat in thousands of rooms with leaders at every level, in every sector and we kept seeing the same thing:

Smart, well-intentioned people promoted into leadership with no real preparation for what leading people actually requires.

We’ve both experienced the cost of that gap firsthand. We’ve worked under leaders who led with fear. We’ve seen talented people leave organizations — not because the work wasn’t right, but because the leadership wasn’t. In fact, over 65% of employees choose to leave the people managing them...not their jobs.

So, we’ve both dedicated our careers to doing something about it.

The Evolving Leader Fellowship is what happens when two expert practitioners who refuse to accept the status quo of leadership development decide to build something better. Not just more training you have to sit through to check the box. We built a program to engage in genuine practice and growth. In a community. With a commitment to the kind of leadership that actually changes things.

Dr. Kristine Medyanik

Dr. Kristine (known to many as “Dr. K”), is a professor, leadership strategist, and organizational development expert dedicated to helping leaders grow into their fullest capacity. She currently serves as faculty with the Hoff School of Business at Corban University, where she designs and teaches both MBA and undergraduate courses that prepare the next generation of business leaders to navigate complexity with strategic insight, ethical grounding, and practical leadership skills.

In the classroom, Dr. K blends academic rigor with real-world relevance. Her courses emphasize not only business strategy and organizational effectiveness, but also the human side of leadership—helping emerging leaders understand how culture, communication, and decision-making shape the long-term health of organizations.

Kristine works with professionals, executives, and organizations to strengthen leadership effectiveness, build emotional intelligence, and cultivate high-performing teams. Her consulting and facilitation work focuses on helping leaders move beyond theory into practice—developing the mindset, communication skills, and strategic awareness needed to lead people well in today’s rapidly changing environments.

Her work intentionally bridges the classroom and the boardroom, connecting research-based leadership frameworks with the realities leaders face every day. Through workshops, keynotes, retreats, and customized leadership programs, their work helps leaders strengthen relational intelligence, navigate organizational challenges, and build cultures rooted in accountability, care, and performance.

Dr. K serves on the board of the McLaren Leadership Foundation, where she contributes to advancing ethical leadership, community engagement, and civic-minded business practices throughout the region. Her commitment to leadership development extends beyond individual organizations and into the broader communities where leaders live and work.

Known for her thoughtful insights, approachable teaching style, and practical leadership frameworks, Dr. K brings clarity, humor, and candor to every room she leads. Whether teaching in a university classroom, facilitating a leadership workshop, or speaking to executives, she helps leaders translate complex leadership concepts into actionable strategies that strengthen both people and organizations.

Dr. Christine Fonner

Dr. Christine has spent 25 years learning (often the hard way!) what it actually takes to lead well. Her research didn’t start in a library. It started in the field, on-site, in boardrooms, at nonprofits, startups, and in the quiet moments after difficult conversations where something had to change.

She has worked across corporate, nonprofit, and educational sectors, and once helped scale a business from $5 million to $500 million in just two years. That experience didn’t just sharpen her strategic instincts...it deepened her conviction that the way we lead people matters as much as the results we chase.

Her PhD research brought a name to something she’d witnessed and felt throughout her career: the devastating, often invisible cost of toxic leadership on women at work and the urgent, practical need for what she now calls Radical Care Leadership. It’s not soft. It’s not idealistic. It’s caring in one of the most courageous and results-driven approaches to people leadership that exists.

Dr. Christine holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, a Master’s in Transformational Leadership and Change Management, and a Bachelor’s in K–12 Bilingual/ESL Education. She is the founder of Christine Fonner Coaching, a leadership development and adventure learning institute.

A self-described nomadic wanderer, Christine splits her time between visiting clients across the country and enjoying time in her homes in Colorado, New Mexico, and Ohio. You’ll find her skiing, hiking, and mountain biking with her husband Josh, and her dogs Chewey, Reese, and Buddy. She continues to integrate nature into her leadership practice because recharging in the outdoors reminds her why presence, courage, and joy belong in leadership, too.
